Calcareous soil of marine origin, the climate is temperate sub-continental, with mild winters, without frequent late frosts and breezy summers. Rainfall is scarce, with about 800-1100 mm per year and a slight accentuation in autumn. In dry summers, emergency irrigation is provided.
