Durella Grape

The Durella grape, white berried, is grown in the Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Veneto regions.
The name Durella seems to derive from the high hardness and resistance of the grape to alterations. In the first decades of the twentieth century, the “durello” wine was vinified with maceration of the solid parts and therefore was acidulous, intensely colored and astringent, and was very suitable for increasing the acid content of other wines. Towards the sixties, the winemaking process was “in white”, obtaining a very pleasant product. Its characteristic palate and high acidity make it particularly suitable for sparkling wine.

Characteristics of the wine

Durella gives a straw yellow colored wine, more or less intense, with a delicately fruity and characteristic aroma. In the mouth it is very fresh, with a dry and full-bodied flavor.
