White Grape
The Bombino Bianco white grape is grown in the following regions: Abruzzo, Basilicata, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Latium, Marche, Molise, Puglia, Umbria.
Its origins are unknown with some coming from Spain, others believe it may come from the eastern Mediterranean basin. An agreement was reached only on the genesis of the name: almost all believe, in fact, that it derives from the very particular shape of the bunch that remind of a baby in swaddling clothes. This characteristic, which also belongs to the Bombino Nero .
Characteristics of the wine
The wine obtained from the Bombino Bianco grape has a straw yellow color with basically neutral aromas and a light but clear hint of ripe fruit. The taste is dry, full and balanced, marked by a fresh acidity that induces a pleasant drink. The vine has a strong aptitude for use for the production of Classic Method sparkling wines, as per tradition in San Severo.
