Tai Rosso Grape
Black Grape
The Tai Rosso (Tocai Rosso outside of Veneto region) grape, a black grape, is grown in the Veneto region
Tai Rosso is a typical grape of the Berici Hills, of which some studies once gave it as the Spanish Garnacha, and therefore coincides with the French Grenache and the Sardinian Cannonao. More recent studies by Calò, Costacurta, Cancellier and Forti (1990) have definitively proved the perfect identity between these varieties, even if very recent researches seem to give Tai Rosso the status of a vine in its own right.
Characteristics of the wine
From the red Tai grape a rosé wine is obtained, with a fruity nose, a little weak in body and savory. Some more recent versions are more concentrated and offer a ruby color, intense, fruity and floral aromas with mineral notes, good tannic finesse and a good body.
