Lambrusco Grasparossa Grape
Black Grape
The black grape Lambrusco Grasparossa is grown in the Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy regions.
Lambrusco Grasparossa is a grape variety present since ancient times on the gentle hills and gravelly lands of the Apennine margin. Agazzotti, in 1867, described the typical hints of “peach almond” in a wine obtained from Lambrusco grasparossa grapes, grown with excellent results on Reggio Emilia soil. This vine is currently the fifth for surface area among the red berried grapes of the province and always fifth overall on the Reggio ampelographic panorama with about 240 hectares.
Characteristics of the wine
From the Lambrusco Grasparossa grape an intense ruby red wine is obtained, with violet reflections and evanescent foam with edges of the same hue, it has a vinous, intense, fruity, fragrant, complex aroma, which also recalls the aroma of grapes. Sapid, vinous, with balanced acidity, slightly fruity, bitterish finish.
